Job Details
Fortress Recruit is working with a leading engineering organisation to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team developing complex electrical systems for safety critical applications.
Working across the full product lifecycle, you will be involved from initial concept and design through to verification, testing, and production support, delivering robust, compliant, and high–quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce electrical design solutions including electrical schematics, cable assemblies, wiring documentation, and system level routing
- Develop detailed design documentation in accordance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards
- Support system verification, validation, and qualification testing activities
- Contribute to environmental, EMC, vibration, and other compliance testing as required
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure designs are delivered on time and meet technical requirements
- Participate in design reviews, ensuring solutions are compliant, manufacturable, and fit for purpose
- Provide technical updates on design progress, project status, and engineering activities

To Be Successful, You'll Have
- Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in electrical design within a regulated engineering environment such as defence, aerospace, rail, marine, automotive, or advanced manufacturing.
- Experience producing electrical schematics, cable designs, and associated technical documentation.
- Good understanding of power distribution, signal integration, and EMC principles.
- Knowledge of verification, validation, or qualification testing would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with experience working within controlled engineering documentation environments.
- Eligibility for SC Clearance (5 years UK residency with no visa or sponsorship requirement).

This is a full–time, permanent role offering GBP40–50K DoE, plus training and development opportunity. The site location is based in Poole, where you'll be required to attend for the first month for onboarding, then onsite twice a week with flexibility.
