Principal Electrical Engineer | Building Services Consultancy

Croydon or London Bridge (hybrid) | Permanent, full time | £75,000 + annual EOT bonus

My client is an independent, employee-owned building services consultancy with offices in Croydon and Central London. They are known for technically demanding work, particularly in healthcare (theatres, MRI, CT, critical care), alongside commercial, education, defence, leisure, residential and public sector projects.

The role

  • Lead electrical design from feasibility and concept through to completion
  • Run multiple projects, including budget estimates, tender reviews, contract administration and site inspections
  • Review and approve the work of other engineers, and take the lead on combined M&E schemes
  • Champion ElectricalOM as the company calculation platform and lead BIM/Revit coordination on key projects
  • Advise clients on decarbonisation, Net Zero, TM54 and TM65
  • Mentor graduate, junior and intermediate engineers and support chartership candidates
  • Build client relationships and help win repeat business

About you

  • Degree qualified Electrical or Building Services Engineer
  • UK consultancy experience, delivering projects through both design and construction phases
  • Strong working knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards and CIBSE guidance (HTM experience is a clear advantage)
  • Confident with clients and comfortable chairing design and technical workshops
  • Chartered, or working towards it, is preferred but not essential
