Contract Electrical Design Engineer Building Services
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Rate: GBP50 per hour (Outside IR35)
Duration: 12 months+
An established Building Services consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing team on a long–term contract basis.
This is a design–led role requiring a minimum of 10 years' Building Services experience, delivering electrical building services projects across residential, commercial and hotel sectors. You will be involved primarily in RIBA Stages 2 4, producing high–quality detailed designs whilst managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Initially, the role requires three days per week in the Manchester office to support onboarding and integration with the team. Following the first month, there is the opportunity to work predominantly remotely, with occasional office attendance and site visits as required.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' Electrical Building Services design experience.
- Strong experience delivering projects through RIBA Stages 2 4.
- Background working on residential, commercial and hotel developments.
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Confident liaising directly with clients and attending project meetings.
- Willing to undertake occasional site visits.
- Strong technical design capability with a focus on detailed design and coordination.
