Company Description
SSPN Global Engineering & Consultancy is a UK-based mechanical design consultancy specializing in end-to-end product development from concept through start of production. The company’s CAD specialists deliver design, reverse engineering, prototyping support, and onsite build assistance for a wide range of products. SSPN focuses on creating manufacturable and cost-effective solutions that support efficient production. Robust version control and disciplined engineering processes help ensure quality, reliability, and traceability throughout the development lifecycle. Team members collaborate closely with clients to translate technical requirements into practical, production-ready designs.
Role Description
The Electrical Design Engineer will work on-site in Royal Leamington Spa in a full-time capacity, collaborating with mechanical and CAD teams to develop electrical systems for new and existing products. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Designing electrical schematics and layouts
- Selecting components
- Integrating electrical systems with mechanical designs
- Preparing calculations, documentation, and bills of materials
- Supporting prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting during build and commissioning
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Contributing to design reviews
- Supporting continuous improvement in cost, manufacturability, and safety
- Working closely with clients to understand requirements and providing clear technical communication and updates

Qualifications
- Ability to apply Electrical Design principles to create schematics, layouts, and documentation for complex systems.
- Competence in Design Engineering practices, including CAD tools and design-for-manufacture considerations.
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, covering circuits, control systems, and safety standards.
- Solid understanding of Electricity fundamentals and practical application in industrial environments.
- Experience with Power Distribution design, including load calculations, protection devices, and grounding.
- Relevant engineering degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with UK and international electrical standards and regulations (e.g., BS, IEC) is beneficial.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD or E-CAD software and general 3D CAD tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to solve technical problems under time constraints.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on-site with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
