Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility and opportunities to develop your career?

As demand for our services continues to grow, we are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Birmingham office. You'll work with a talented team of engineers, contribute to a diverse range of projects and help deliver innovative building services solutions for our clients.

You'll gain exposure to projects across multiple sectors and work throughout the full range of Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) stages for both new-build and refurbishment projects. This variety will help you broaden your technical knowledge and build experience across different types of developments.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary design team to deliver detailed electrical designs.
  • Design electrical systems and site-specific solutions for a wide range of projects.
  • Apply relevant standards, codes and regulations, including BS 7671 and Building Regulations.
  • Use industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ElectricalOM, Amtech and Dialux.
  • Collaborate closely with structural engineers, architects, surveyors and contractors across both internal and external project teams.
  • Advise clients and architects on energy use, sustainability and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet client and project requirements.

To Succeed In This Role, You'll Have

  • A degree or higher qualification in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a similar electrical design role, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • A strong understanding of electrical engineering design principles and project delivery.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Ideally, you'll be Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised professional institution.
