Monday–Friday days 37.5 hours per week
Your New Role
Based in South Essex, you will be joining a well–known manufacturing company which specialises in the design, manufacturing, build and installation of automated machinery working in several industries. With a large order book and continuous projects for the next 3–6 years, this is an excellent time to join an ever–expanding business.
The business now has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding Design team.
Working alongside the mechanical & electrical design team as well as the projects team, the shop floor and more, you will be working on and exposed to several high–value projects, overseeing the full electrical design life–cycle.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assisting with the ongoing drawing transition from AutoCAD to EPLAN, working with the rest of the Automation Department to agree on methods of working and drawing standards
- Generating electrical drawings and panel layouts, with supporting electrical documentation (Bill of Materials, Component Lists, Cable Schedules, Terminal Rail Layouts etc.)
- Ensure all electrical drawings are updated promptly throughout the life cycle of the project and shared with all relevant departments
- Maintain a database of preferred electrical devices to ensure consistency in functional hardware from project to project.
This is just a summed–up list, and other duties will be required.
Experience & Skills Needed
- Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g. apprenticeship)
- Experience in a similar Electrical Design–based role
- Knowledge of EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel 3D is a necessity.
- Flexibility and curiosity with a willingness to learn and apply themselves to areas with which they are not familiar
- Knowledge of automated machinery is highly advantageous.
