The Opportunity

A growing independent building services consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join its close–knit London team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer who wants greater project ownership, technical responsibility and direct exposure to clients. The business works across a varied portfolio of technically challenging projects, with a strong focus on commercial offices, workplaces and industrial/warehouse developments.

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will deliver electrical building services designs from concept through to completion. You'll work alongside mechanical engineers, architects, contractors and clients to develop practical and well–coordinated MEP solutions.

The Electrical Design Engineer Will Be Responsible For

  • Producing electrical building services designs and technical documentation
  • Developing layouts, calculations and specifications
  • Taking ownership of project deliverables
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and consultants
  • Attending design and project meetings
  • Coordinating electrical designs with wider MEP services
  • Reviewing designs and providing technical input
  • Supporting energy–efficient and sustainable design solutions

About You

The ideal Electrical Design Engineer will have 4+ years' building services experience and a strong consultancy background with skills and expertise using tools such as Amtech / Trimble, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux etc.

You should have proven experience working on commercial office and/or industrial/warehouse projects, alongside strong technical knowledge and the ability to work autonomously.

Consultancy experience is essential. Candidates whose background is predominantly education, healthcare or residential projects are unlikely to be suitable.
