Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centres

Central London (Hybrid) | Freelance Contract | 6–9 Months

Electrical Design Engineer required for a leading engineering consultancy delivering complex, mission-critical data centre projects across the UK and Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge data centre developments, supporting projects through the full design lifecycle. You'll be involved from concept and feasibility through detailed design, technical coordination, construction support, commissioning, and project completion.

The Role

Electrical Design Engineer

  • Data Centre projects
  • Full project lifecycle involvement (RIBA Stages 1–7)
  • Design and coordination of electrical building services systems
  • Produce and review technical design documentation and calculations
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams, clients and contractors
  • Hybrid working (1–3 days per week in Central London)
  • Freelance contract
  • 6–9 month duration
  • Immediate start available

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within building services.
  • Previous data centre project experience is essential.
  • Experience delivering projects across all design stages.
  • Strong knowledge of LV power distribution, UPS systems, standby generation, lighting, earthing and other critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary consultancy teams.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard electrical design software and relevant UK design standards.
