An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join an established Building Services consultancy delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across Cambridge, East Anglia and the wider UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who wants variety, responsibility and genuine technical development. You'll join an established team of 14, working across projects including Cambridge colleges, healthcare, Design & Build and commercial developments.

Strong electrical Building Services experience is the priority. Revit experience is not essential, with full support available to develop your Revit skills as part of the role.

The Role

As An Electrical Design Engineer, You'll Be Responsible For

  • Designing electrical Building Services systems across a varied project portfolio
  • Producing electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports
  • Developing lighting, power, containment and associated electrical designs
  • Supporting projects from concept through detailed design and construction
  • Working closely with Mechanical Engineers and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Attending design meetings and liaising with clients, architects and contractors
  • Producing and reviewing technical drawings and design information
  • Supporting Design & Build project delivery
  • Ensuring designs comply with current UK regulations and industry standards
  • Developing your Revit capabilities with support from the wider team

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong Building Services background.

Ideally You'll Have

  • Around 5+ years' Electrical Building Services design experience, although strong intermediate–level engineers will also be considered
  • Experience within a Building Services consultancy or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical Building Services design
  • Experience producing calculations, specifications and technical documentation
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant electrical standards
  • Strong communication and problem–solving skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to continue developing technically

Revit experience is advantageous, but not essential. If you're a strong Electrical Design Engineer who hasn't yet had the opportunity to develop your Revit skills, training and support will be provided.
