Electrical Design Engineer – SolidWorks

Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking for your next challenge? Whether you're a junior engineer looking to develop your skills or a mid-level engineer ready to take on greater responsibility, my client has an excellent opportunity to join their growing R&D team.

This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in the design and development of electrical systems for highly specialised machinery, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through to manufacture.

In this Electrical Design Engineer – SolidWorks role based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Designing electrical systems and producing detailed electrical drawings and schematics using SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Creating and maintaining electrical documentation, including wiring diagrams, bills of materials and cable schedules.
  • Supporting the development of special purpose machinery by working closely with mechanical, software and manufacturing engineers.
  • Assisting with prototype builds, testing and commissioning activities to ensure designs meet performance and quality requirements.

The successful applicant for this Electrical Design Engineer – SolidWorks job based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire should have:

  • Experience using SolidWorks Electrical (or SolidWorks with electrical design exposure) to produce electrical schematics and documentation.
  • A good understanding of electrical design principles, control panels, wiring diagrams and industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, automation, machinery or special purpose equipment environment would be advantageous.
  • A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
