Job Summary

The Electrical Design Manager for Data Center is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of electrical design for data center projects. This role involves ensuring the design and implementation of robust, reliable, and efficient electrical systems that meet industry standards and project specifications. The Electrical Design Manager will work closely with project stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and clients, to deliver high-quality electrical solutions for data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Oversight: Lead and manage the electrical design process for data center projects, including power distribution, backup power systems (UPS and generators), lighting, and emergency systems.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical designs with overall project plans.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise in electrical systems, ensuring designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
  • Design Reviews: Conduct and oversee design reviews, ensuring that all electrical designs are accurate, feasible, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant codes and standards, including NEC, IEC, and other local regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to verify the accuracy and reliability of electrical designs and systems.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges related to electrical design and implementation, providing solutions that minimize project risks.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors and suppliers to specify and select electrical equipment, ensuring compatibility with design requirements and project needs.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review design documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, and reports, ensuring thorough and accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on data center or similar critical infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in electrical design and a deep understanding of electrical systems for data center, including power distribution, backup power, and cooling systems.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC, IEC, and local regulations.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing and coordinating complex projects, with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual in English and any other European language is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of addressing and resolving technical challenges.
