We’re supporting an established, growing engineering and technology business that designs and manufactures advanced electronic products used within critical infrastructure and demanding industrial environments.
Due to continued development within the engineering function, they’re looking for an experienced Senior Electronics & Electrical Engineer to join a small, highly capable hardware team.
This isn’t a narrow PCB design position. You’ll have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of hardware projects and work packages across the full product lifecycle, from initial requirements and concept through design, prototype, validation and ultimately production.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for:
- Designing analogue, digital and mixed-signal electronic systems
- Circuit design and schematic capture
- PCB design and supporting complex/multilayer layouts
- Prototype build, board bring-up and hands-on debugging
- Hardware verification, validation and testing
- Supporting EMC, safety and product compliance activities
- Component selection and design for manufacture
- Working closely with manufacturing/operations through production release
- Reviewing designs and providing technical input to other engineers
- Producing clear technical documentation and reports
- Working collaboratively across hardware, software, mechanical and wider engineering teams
- Taking ownership of technical work packages with a high level of autonomy

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a well-rounded electronics engineer who has progressed beyond simply contributing to individual elements of a design.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong commercial experience within electronics/hardware engineering
- A relevant Electronics/Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
- Experience taking electronic products or significant work packages from design through to manufacture
- Strong schematic and PCB design fundamentals
- Hands-on board bring-up and fault-finding/debugging experience
- Experience across analogue and digital/mixed-signal electronics
- Exposure to EMC, compliance, verification and validation
- Experience supporting products through manufacturing and production
- The ability to work independently and become a technical “go-to” person
- Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills
Altium experience would be beneficial but isn't essential. Engineers experienced with other professional ECAD packages such as Cadence, OrCAD, Mentor, PADS or KiCad will also be considered.

This role could also suit a strong mid-level engineer who is already operating with significant independence and is ready to step into a more senior position.

- Up to £60,000 basic salary
