Electrical Engineer | Knaresborough, UK
Salary: £47,500
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is predominantly electrical (70%) with some mechanical maintenance responsibilities (30%). Working on a rotating 4-on, 4-off day and night shift pattern, you will help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site equipment and industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and industrial equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Maintain motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, control panels, and electrical distribution systems.
- Complete electrical testing, inspections, repairs, and fault-finding activities.
- Carry out basic mechanical maintenance and repairs as required.
- Interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and identify reliability improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and safe working practices.

Required Qualifications
- Experience as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, or similar within manufacturing, industrial, production, or facilities environments.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Relevant electrical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe electrical working practices.
- Willingness to work a rotating day and night 4-on, 4-off shift pattern.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems.
- Mechanical maintenance experience.
- Continuous improvement and equipment reliability experience.
