This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Engineer role based in London. The Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design and analysis of electrical systems for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects, power distribution networks, substations, and related infrastructure.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Preparing single-line diagrams and schematics
- Performing cable sizing and voltage drop calculations
- Supporting load flow and short circuit studies
- Producing clear electrical design documentation and technical drawings
The role involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, reviewing project requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and providing practical engineering solutions that support procurement, construction, and project delivery. The Electrical Engineer will also assist in quality checks, design reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering, with experience in preparing technical drawings, schematics, and design documentation.
- Solid knowledge of Electricity and fundamental electrical principles, including safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in Power Systems and Power Distribution, including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and substation or grid connection design.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; professional certification or chartership is an advantage.
- Proficiency with design and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD or similar), and familiarity with power system analysis software is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and constructability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in renewable energy, utility-scale or commercial projects, or E&M consulting environments is a plus.
