Electrical Engineer
Location: Cambridge, UK
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join an established food manufacturing business in Cambridge. This is a hands-on maintenance role focused on maximising equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting efficient production operations. The position operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with participation in a 1-in-3 on-call rota offering additional call-out bonuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair faults on production and manufacturing equipment.
- Carry out electrical fault-finding on control systems, motors, sensors, and machinery.
- Support production teams to minimise downtime and maintain performance.
- Work with PLCs and industrial control systems.
- Complete maintenance records accurately and on time.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.

Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or food production environments.
- Ability to diagnose and repair faults on industrial machinery.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.

Preferred Qualifications
- Recognised electrical qualification or apprenticeship.
- Experience with PLCs, industrial control systems, sensors, and motors.
- Food manufacturing experience.
- Mechanical maintenance skills.
