Electrical Engineer
Reading based, hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 at home)
Up to £70,000 + benefits
UK based IPP working across solar and BESS sites
Since 2012, this independent power provider has been on a simple mission to contribute towards the net zero targets. They have done this through expanding their capabilities and remit in the renewable energy space. Over the last decade, they've expanded their operations to cover both development and construction of assets, allowing the team to construct over 40 solar farms and have over 7 GW of projects in development today.
A unique point to the group are the sheer size of their projects. They specifically specialize in NSIP projects, becoming a leader in this space. They also keep a large amount of the work in house, having full development capabilities, EPC and delivery as well as asset ownership.

The main focus of the role is to support the technical and grid team, and so an engineering background (Electrical) is essential for this position. Additionally, ideal candidates will have experience with grid connections and project engineering on large scale renewable energy projects.

The role:
As this role is across the full project lifecycle, you'll have a wider variety of responsibilities. The main work will involve:
- Overseeing grid milestones and ensuring projects are able to reach them in a cost and time efficient way.
- Communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including both internal and external.
- Identifying grid connection opportunities at a high voltage.
- Preparing and submitting these grid applications.
- Managing relations with DNOs and TOs.
- Providing technical support throughout the construction phases of operations.
- Supporting through project acquisitions also.
