Electrical Engineer – Mission-Critical Infrastructure 📍 UK-based / flexible location 💷 £80,000–£90,000 DOE 🌍 Long-term global programme | Travel as required
Work on highly resilient, mission-critical facilities where electrical reliability is non-negotiable. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting complex projects from early design through construction, commissioning and live operations — with genuine influence across multiple international sites.
About the role
You will provide specialist electrical engineering support to a major global infrastructure programme, supplementing internal capability and helping deliver reliable, efficient and resilient technical facilities.
The role suits an Electrical Engineer who is comfortable reviewing designs, challenging technical solutions and resolving issues across the full project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Review and develop electrical designs for new facility deployments
- Assess specifications, design packages, consultant submissions and vendor documentation
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, local codes and regulations
- Identify value-engineering and technical improvement opportunities
- Support concept design, technical evaluations and multidisciplinary coordination
- Resolve electrical engineering issues during construction and change management
- Manage design updates, engineering changes and technical documentation
- Develop and review Owner Furnished Equipment documentation
- Support operational teams with system performance, resilience and reliability improvements
- Produce clear technical reports, summaries and stakeholder presentations

What you will bring
- Strong electrical engineering experience within mission-critical, industrial or complex infrastructure environments
- Experience supporting projects through design, construction and operational phases
- Sound knowledge of electrical systems, technical standards and design assurance
- Ability to review and challenge consultant and vendor deliverables
- Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams and large-scale programmes
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
