Role Description

We are looking for Electrical Engineers to add to our growing Engineering team and become the driving force behind our high-voltage projects. You'll be part of the design team for a range of multi-disciplinary Transmission & Distribution projects both domestically and internationally. You can expect variety and travel, visiting client sites to independently discuss, define, and verify client requirements and reflecting the output in high-quality proposals and reports.

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for key elements of design delivery on one or more projects that may be working concurrently. He/she will report directly to a Lead Electrical Engineer/Engineering Manager.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the production of electrical engineering on projects assigned to you.
  • Work closely with the civil designer to ensure civil aspects meet electrical equipment requirements.
  • Act as a single point of contact (SPOC) with the Utility provider and client owners engineer.
  • Manage electrical & civil design logs from the Utility provider and client owners engineer.
  • Manage design pack submittals to the Utility provider and client owners engineer.
  • Assist with the preparation of procurement specifications for the main primary plant, including HV power transformers, HV circuit breakers, HV switchgear, and NERs.
  • Review supplier documents and schematics to ensure equipment is compliant with technical specifications and functional specifications.
  • Responsible for the preparation of physical HV layouts, electrical systems, secondary control and protection systems, and single-line diagrams.
  • Responsible for the preparation of HV system studies, including protection coordination, voltage regulation, load flow, and fault level reports.
  • Attend Utility provider and client owners engineer meetings as required.

Skills/ Requirements:

  • Honours Electrical Engineering Degree or similar.
  • Minimum 2 Years’ Experience in a similar role with HV contractor or utility.
  • Working knowledge of design software, including ETAP, Eplan, AutoCAD, Cymcap, Autodesk, Advanced Steel.
  • People management skills.
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player who demonstrates a high level of initiative.
  • On-site commissioning experience is desirable.
