Electrical Engineer
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 DOE
Location: Watford, UK
Type: Permanent
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a growing Building Services team, working on the design and delivery of electrical systems across a range of building projects.
The successful candidate will have experience in building services consultancy/design and be comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical building services systems for commercial, residential, education, healthcare and/or public-sector projects.
- Produce electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
- Develop drawings and schematics using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Carry out electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop and fault-current calculations.
- Design lighting, small power, emergency lighting and containment systems.
- Work on fire alarm, access control, security and other specialist electrical systems where required.
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural and architectural disciplines.
- Attend project meetings and liaise with clients, contractors and other consultants.
- Assist with site surveys, inspections and responding to technical queries.
- Support senior engineers and project managers with project delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
- Contribute to project documentation, specifications and reports.

- Degree/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within building services / MEP consultancy or contracting.
- Good understanding of electrical building services design.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Understanding of relevant British Standards and Building Regulations.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
