Electrical Call-Out Engineers – LV Switchgear

Location: South of England / Central London
Shift Pattern: Day & Night On-Call Rota
Contract: Temporary

We are currently recruiting for 4 experienced Electrical Engineers to provide emergency call-out support across a large number of critical sites throughout the South of England, with a high concentration of sites across Central London.

The successful engineers will provide emergency response and technical support for a range of LV electrical and switchgear faults, helping to diagnose issues, make systems safe, and restore services where possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency electrical call-outs and breakdowns.
  • Investigate and resolve LV switchgear faults.
  • Diagnose circuit breaker trips and nuisance tripping.
  • Respond to mains failures and generator changeover issues.
  • Investigate power supply interruptions and distribution faults.
  • Carry out electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and restoration of service.
  • Provide technical support to duty engineers during significant electrical incidents.
  • Attend sites where additional electrical support is required.
  • Liaise with site personnel and provide clear service reports following attendance.
  • Escalate major incidents or issues requiring specialist support.
  • Maintain accurate records of call-outs, attendance, and work completed.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong experience in electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of LV switchgear.
  • Experience responding to electrical breakdowns and emergency situations.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound technical decisions.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Flexibility to work across day and night on-call requirements.
  • A professional approach when dealing with clients, site teams, and emergency situations.
