Location: Mansfield, OH
Cleveland-Cliffs Mansfield Works is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our maintenance and engineering team.
In this role, you will apply your electrical expertise to troubleshoot equipment issues, improve reliability, support major maintenance activities, and implement innovative solutions that keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
This position is ideal for an electrical professional who enjoys solving complex equipment challenges, working with industrial systems, and making a direct impact on manufacturing performance.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes
- Develop and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
- Support planning maintenance outages, downturn repairs, and preventive maintenance activities
- Coordinate equipment inspections and manage spares and inventory cost controls
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance
- Support the installation and startup of new electrical equipment and technologies
- Conduct safety and quality observations and help address identified concerns and defects
- Assist with developing and updating Job Safety and Health Analyses (JSHAs)
- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or related equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience working with industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, and control systems
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills
- Ability to lead projects, influence teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Must be able to work extended hours as needed to support operations, emergency repairs, and planned maintenance outages
Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years’ experience in heavy manufacturing
- Experience with DC and overhead cranes
- Knowledge of melting and casting steel or other metals
- Experience in a union environment
