We’re recruiting an Electrical Plant Engineer for a leading advanced manufacturing business in Exeter.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining capital-project delivery, equipment reliability and plant-engineering support. You’ll lead improvement projects, help resolve complex equipment issues and deliver practical engineering solutions that improve safety, availability and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver capital, equipment-improvement and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion
- Specify, source and support the installation of new machinery and equipment
- Manage contractors, project plans, costs and timescales
- Improve the reliability of critical manufacturing equipment and reduce recurring downtime
- Support electrical fault-finding across production equipment and site infrastructure
- Analyse equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve OEE and asset utilisation
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure work complies with relevant legislation, company standards and health and safety requirements

What We’re Looking For:
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Controls or a related engineering discipline
- At least three years’ relevant experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical fault-finding and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience delivering engineering projects and supervising contractors
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good written, verbal and stakeholder-management skills

Experience with CAD, CMMS, automation, Microsoft Project or business systems such as Oracle would be advantageous. Multi-skilled electrical and mechanical experience would also be welcomed.
