Electrical Engineer - Grid & HV Projects - Onsite across the UK

Location: UK (Hybrid/Flexible Working)

About the Company

Our client is a leading international engineering and advisory consultancy supporting the global energy transition. Working across power networks, renewables and critical infrastructure, they deliver complex projects that help shape the low-carbon energy systems of the future.

With a strong pipeline of UK and international projects, they are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a growing team focused on grid infrastructure and renewable energy integration.

The Role

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of grid connection, transmission, distribution and high-voltage (HV) projects. The successful candidate will support the delivery of technical engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle, helping clients navigate the challenges associated with network expansion and renewable energy integration.

Candidates with experience in HV systems, substations, power networks or grid connection projects are encouraged to apply. Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar PV projects would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical engineering designs and technical solutions for grid and HV infrastructure projects.
  • Support the design and development of substations, transmission and distribution systems.
  • Undertake electrical studies, calculations and technical assessments.
  • Prepare engineering specifications, reports and design documentation.
  • Support grid connection applications and liaise with network operators and utility stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Participate in feasibility studies, concept designs and detailed engineering activities.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations and industry best practice.
  • Support project delivery activities through design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
  • Contribute to technical proposals and business development opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
