Role Purpose
Inox Fabrications Ltd is looking for a skilled and practical Electrician – Installation & Commissioning to become an integral part of our engineering and installation team.
The role will involve the electrical installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of our commercial kitchen ventilation systems and fabricated catering equipment. The position combines site-based installation and commissioning with workshop-based electrical work, taking responsibility for the electrical elements of projects from first fix through to final connection, testing, and commissioning.
The successful candidate will also play an important role in developing and improving the electrical infrastructure, equipment, and working practices within our existing manufacturing workshops.
Key Responsibilities
Ventilation Installation & Commissioning
- Carry out electrical installation works associated with commercial kitchen ventilation and extraction systems.
- Complete first and second fix electrical installations on customer sites.
- Install and connect supplies, isolators, control panels, fans, lighting, and associated ventilation equipment.
- Wire and terminate ventilation control systems and associated components.
- Assist with the commissioning, testing, and fault-finding of newly installed ventilation systems.
- Work alongside Inox installation teams and other trades to ensure installations are completed safely and efficiently.
- Read and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
- Identify installation issues and provide practical solutions while on site.
Catering Equipment Wiring
- Carry out electrical wiring, connection, and testing of equipment manufactured by Inox Fabrications, including:
- Catering counters and servery equipment
- Hot cupboards
- Heated gantries and heat lamps
- Lighting systems
- Switches, thermostats, and temperature controllers
- Fans and ventilation components
- Control panels and associated electrical equipment
- Complete internal equipment wiring neatly and consistently to an appropriate professional standard, ensuring equipment is suitable for final testing and installation.

Testing, Commissioning & Fault Finding
- Carry out electrical inspection and testing of completed installations and equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults both in the workshop and on customer sites.
- Support the commissioning of ventilation systems and catering equipment.
- Verify correct operation of electrical controls, safety devices, and associated equipment.
- Record relevant testing and commissioning information.
- Ensure electrical work complies with applicable regulations, manufacturer requirements, and Inox quality standards.
Workshop Improvements
- Take an active role in improving and developing the electrical facilities within Inox Fabrications' existing workshops. This may include:
- Installation and alteration of workshop power supplies.
- Installation of additional sockets, isolators, and machinery supplies.
- Improvements to workshop lighting.
- Electrical connections for new machinery and equipment.
- Installation of cable containment and distribution systems.
- Identification and rectification of electrical defects.
- Supporting workshop layout changes and expansion projects.
- Recommending practical electrical improvements to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Health & Safety
- Carry out all electrical work safely and in accordance with current electrical regulations and company procedures.
- Complete appropriate electrical isolation and safe working procedures before commencing work.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping both on site and within the workshop.
- Identify and report electrical or site safety concerns.
- Ensure tools, test equipment, and PPE are maintained and used correctly.
- Work safely around other trades, customers, and members of the public when completing site installations.
Skills & Experience
- Recognised electrical qualifications.
- Experience working as an electrician within an industrial, commercial, or manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of first and second fix electrical installation.
- Experience with three-phase and single-phase electrical systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with electrical testing and fault finding.
- Practical understanding of control wiring.
- Good mechanical and practical problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider installation team.
- Good communication skills when dealing with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
- A full UK driving licence due to the site-based nature of the role.
- Experience with commercial kitchen ventilation, extraction systems, catering equipment, control panels, or manufacturing environments would be particularly advantageous.

Qualifications
- Ideally, candidates will hold relevant electrical qualifications appropriate to the work being undertaken, together with current knowledge of the BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations. Inspection and testing qualifications would be advantageous.
- Additional training relating to ventilation controls, commissioning, and specialist Inox equipment can be provided where appropriate.

Role Development
This position has the potential to develop beyond day-to-day electrical installation. As the company's electrical capabilities grow, the successful candidate may become increasingly involved in electrical design, control systems, standardisation of equipment wiring, development of workshop electrical standards, commissioning procedures, and training of other members of the Inox team.
The aim is to develop a strong in-house electrical capability that supports our products from manufacture and testing through to installation, commissioning, and after-sales support.
