Electrical Engineer (Gla)

Location:

Glasgow

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, updating, implementing and enforcing project-specific and practice-wide BIM standards and policies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Understanding and managing the required LOD, LOI and CoBie data at each of the RIBA stages, as per the project-specific requirements.
  • Generation and implementation of Revit models at the start of new projects, using practice and industry standards and developing new templates as required.
  • Generation of reports for clash detection and associated responsibility matrix.
  • Conducting the BIM internal and external audits.
  • Ability to carry out training sessions for the internal team to maintain internal quality control.
  • Work competently on an independent basis or as part of a wider team and be responsible for reporting to line manager.
  • Communicate directly with other design team members, including attendance at meetings, where required to suit project needs.
  • Manage your own workload to suit project deadlines and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with internal and external design team members.
  • Be actively involved in compliance with RSP Business Management Systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience and working knowledge of an MEP environment.
  • Experience and Revit ability on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience within a work-sharing environment (CDE), and a demonstrable experience using 3D co-ordination software (such as Navisworks) are essential.
  • Good and confident communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry design software (i.e. AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, MagiCAD).
  • The candidate should demonstrate a strong work ethic and a drive to uphold company values and a personal pride and commitment in the delivered information to the Client, Design and Construction Teams.

Requirements

  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to do overtime, when and if required.
  • Must be prepared to travel within the UK. This may involve early morning starts, late finishes and occasionally overnight stays.
