Critec Group is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in the United Kingdom on a contract basis.
Provide specialist electrical engineering design support across physical and electronic security projects, managing electrical inputs from concept through to detailed design, ensuring all electrical systems meet technical, compliance, and asset standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Lead Design Engineer / Engineering Director.
- Responsible for delivering electrical engineering inputs across assigned security project workstreams.
- Utilise and maintain reports, documents, and records using internal document management systems.
- Follow defined processes for managing all aspects of electrical design, utilising approved documentation, and assisting with development of new processes.
- Produce electrical design drawings including single-line diagrams, schematic layouts, cable containment drawings, and earthing and bonding arrangements.
- Carry out electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop assessments, and power supply appraisals for security system installations.
- Support and coordinate with ESS engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical infrastructure with security systems.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to verify existing electrical infrastructure conditions and gather data for design.
- Review contractor-produced electrical design packages for compliance with project specification, client asset standards, and relevant British Standards.
- Assist with design scope of change and resolution, including TQ, waiver production, and Early Warning Notice (EWN) management.
- Contribute to project H&S documentation in line with CDM Regulations, including RAMS preparation and review.
- Maintain design programme and tracker for electrical deliverables and report progress at weekly reviews.
- Attend site visits for surveys, commissioning support, and installation oversight as required.
