Due to a new contract from the client, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer with an extensive understanding of Critical Facilities/Data Centre infrastructure (Mechanical & Electrical assets).

As a member of the technical team operating across a portfolio of 13 Data Centre Sites supporting a Fixed Electrical Testing Programme, you will be responsible for the safe operation, isolation, and switching of 11kV High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) critical power systems.

As an Authorised Person (AP), you will deploy across the estate to author, review, and execute SOPs. Your primary focus is enabling critical Periodic Fixed Electrical Testing (FET), ensuring zero downtime.

You will ensure that the conduct of any personnel under your control is safe, professional, and conscientious. You will also be required to attend site meetings with the client and on behalf of the client as requested. Driving a Safety-First culture throughout the team on the account, lead through your experience and knowledge of safe systems of work and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a designated Authorised Person (AP) for the group's 11kV distribution networks and LV critical distribution systems across 13 sites.
  • Perform safe isolations in strict accordance with the JLL Electrical Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
  • Issue, manage, and cancel statutory safety documentation, including Permit to Work (PtW) and Certificates of Isolation across assigned sites.
  • Enforce rigorous lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols across all active electrical plant rooms.
  • Review, challenge, and sign off third-party Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS) for sub-contracted testing teams.
  • Oversee and audit specialist contractors performing periodic testing in accordance with BS7671 and Guidance Note 3.
  • Operate all MEP systems within the Critical Facility/Data Centre in a competent and confident manner (including HV/LV Electrical isolations/operations). Making recommendations for improvement and providing concise technical reports when required.
  • Ensure that Specialist Vendors supporting the FET program are completed efficiently, and quality of work has been inspected and recommendations are communicated to the duty JLL FM team and Account Manager.
  • Ensuring minimum staffing arrangements are always maintained.
  • Actively participate and complete Health and Safety compliance activities, such as Hazard/Near Miss Reporting and regular attendance/completion of scheduled Toolbox Talks.
  • Accountable for the compliance with JLL MEP process and procedures when undertaking enabling works for the FET, ensuring risk management documentation (SOP or EOP) are in place for all activities.
  • Take ownership of areas (including all plant rooms) under JLL control, ensuring they are brought up to and maintained to the required show site standards.

Qualification and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Critical Environments such as Banking HQ and Data Centres.
  • C&G 2391 Inspection, Test and Certification (or equivalent).
  • Authorised Person (High Voltage and Low Voltage).
  • BS 7671 (Current Edition).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, City & Guilds 2320/2360.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering UK Level 3 Qualification or equivalent (Time-served apprenticeship).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions.
  • Integrity, honesty, and punctuality is also expected.
