An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join Edwards Abatement Solutions in Clevedon.
Edwards is the world leader in developing and manufacturing abatement systems for the semiconductor industry and is part of the Atlas Copco Group, which affords employees access to potential opportunities worldwide. Mission
Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the execution of design solutions within a multi-discipline engineering team.
Main Responsibilities
- To design, develop and maintain modules/sub-assemblies for new/customised products in accordance with Edwards’ Product Customisation Engineering Process and Engineering Change Process
- To meet the Engineering Specification targets and ensure conformance to the relevant international, national and industry safety standards
- To verify that the designs conform to the relevant design standards by calculation and/or testing as appropriate
- To select and introduce suitable components to satisfy international legislation and customer expectations
- Accountable for the design and development of sub-assemblies of a product ensuring the specified quality and cost are achieved to the agreed project time scale
- Accountable for the detailed documentation of the design (models, drawings, design data, Bill of Material, test data) ensuring all relevant information is recorded in a timely manner in accordance with 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive requirements

Experience & Skills
- A good electrically biased Engineering Degree or other relevant engineering qualification with 2 years industry experience – Essential
- 2D CAD skills (AutoCAD Electrical, and/or other drafting tools) – Essential
- 3D CAD skills is an advantage
- Experience in product development and introductions – Desirable
- Basic fault finding – Essential
- Some experience with PLC – Desirable
- Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly – Desirable
- Experience in the use of a range of engineering materials and with several manufacturing methods/techniques – Desirable
