GBP40,000 + Overtime

Monday to Friday, Days

Join a leading design and manufacturer of full turnkey projects for food processing and packaging machinery. Due to further growth within the business, they are looking for an electrical engineer to support the test, assembly and electrical installation of new machinery.

Role And Responsibilities Of An Electrical Engineer

  • Electrical building and testing of industrial machinery
  • Machine wiring and functional testing
  • Wire and connect electrical systems on machinery: motors, sensors, actuators, interconnectors
  • Carry out functional testing: input/output checks, basic fault finding prior to commissioning
  • Assist in verifying signal paths of PLCs / HMIs before software upload
  • Read and work from electrical schematics and layout drawings
  • Support additional factory installation tasks when needed

Knowledge, Skills And Experience Needed To Be a Electrical Engineer

  • Background in machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring documentation
  • Qualification: NVQ Level 3 or higher Electrical Engineering + 18th Edition
  • Experience with control drives, sensors, motors, VFDs
  • Dealt with automation, PLCs, HMIs
  • Confident in identifying and resolving electrical faults during build and testing
  • Flexible approach to working hours, and willing to do overtime when needed
  • Background in food machinery, process equipment, OEM: desirable
