Job Description:

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance

TRAVEL REQUIRED

Multiple times a year to other Airbus sites and customer sites

LOCATION

Portsmouth - This role is mainly office based

TYPE

About the role....

This is a fantastic role for an open and approachable Team Leader who is passionate about developing and supporting their people. You will be leading a team of 10-15 Electrical Engineers, RF Test Systems Engineers and Test Operations Support Engineers who produce Telecommunications and Navigation satellites for commercial, government and military customers.

Although strong Electrical Engineering experience is required for this high visibility role, you will be working closely with the Technical Lead who will support you with knowledge gaps.

How you will contribute to the team…

  • Provide a stable and consistent environment where the Production team can focus on delivering commitments on time, protecting product integrity and ensuring products meet safety requirements, stay on track - OTOCOQ.
  • With your team and affected departments review if the current Clean Room and production processes are fit for purpose. Consider where you can optimise, make changes or bring ideas to the table
  • Gain an understanding the levels of skills and experience of your team members
  • Day-to-day: manage, allocate and deploy payload test assets including maintenance, calibration and long term industrial planning to ensure test inventory meets multi-project needs
  • Input into a significant production facilities upgrade, championing your team and departments needs and requirements

About you?

  • Electrical Engineering awareness within a manufacturing environment
  • Team Lead experience within a Manufacturing environment, producing low volume, highly complex products
  • Passionate about people management for delivery and development
  • Demonstrable practical application of delivery in the respect of Quality, Time and Cost principles
