Electrical Estimator

Location: UK - Hybrid/Remote working available
Salary: £85,000 + package DOE

The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established MEP engineering contractor delivering large-scale mechanical and electrical projects across the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. The business works across a variety of sectors including data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, and logistics with a strong portfolio of technically complex developments.

The Role

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates from pre-tender through to post-tender stage, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely electrical estimates and tenders
  • Manage tenders in line with company procedures and timescales
  • Produce detailed electrical take-offs and measurements
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Prepare and issue supplier and subcontractor enquiries
  • Review and assess quotations to ensure they meet project requirements
  • Identify potential technical, construction, and commercial risks
  • Prepare product substitution and value engineering options
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market pricing and competition
  • Review completed projects against original estimates to identify variances
  • Work closely with estimating, commercial, and project teams
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator
  • Experience estimating for commercial, industrial, data centre, pharmaceutical, or similar projects
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A relevant engineering or technical qualification would be advantageous
