Electrical Estimator | Telford | £65,000 + Package
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established MEP contractor based in Telford, delivering major building services projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong electrical Design & Build background, ideally with experience across cost planning and pre-construction, to join an established commercial and estimating team.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked as an Electrical Estimator, M&E Estimator, Design & Build Estimator, Cost Planner or Pre-Construction Estimator within the building services sector.
The Role
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for Design & Build projects
- Produce accurate cost plans from early-stage design through to tender submission
- Review drawings, specifications, employer's requirements and tender documentation
- Develop electrical pricing from concept and Stage 3/4 designs
- Prepare take-offs and build detailed bills of quantities
- Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identify value engineering and alternative design solutions
- Work closely with design, commercial and operational teams throughout pre-construction
- Support the development of project budgets and cost plans
- Assess project risks, opportunities and potential commercial issues
- Prepare tender submissions and present estimates internally
- Assist with tender handovers to project delivery and commercial teams
- Maintain current knowledge of electrical materials, labour rates and market pricing

Requirements
- Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within an M&E contractor, building services contractor or electrical subcontractor
- Strong Design & Build estimating experience
- Experience in cost planning is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of electrical building services including LV distribution, lighting, small power, containment, fire alarms and associated systems
- Experience pricing projects from early-stage design through to detailed tender
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costs
- Confident obtaining, analysing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Right to work in the UK
