About the Opportunity

As Electrical Estimator you will play a crucial role in accurately and efficiently determining the cost of electrical projects across a range of sectors including commercial, industrial, and residential. You will contribute directly to the development of competitive tender strategies and robust cost planning with a strong focus on ensuring profitable project acquisition.

What you'll do

  • You will manage the end-to-end electrical estimating process, which encompasses the interpretation of electrical designs, precise material take-offs, thorough review of tender specifications, and adjudication of tenders; specifically:
  • Estimating project costs for electrical installations ranging from £100,000 to £8 million across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
  • Assist in the creation of cost plans for two-stage tendering processes.
  • Interpret electrical designs to produce tender design drawings and conduct accurate material take-offs for Design & Build projects.
  • Accurately input material take-off data.
  • Review tender specifications and issue trade and specialist enquiries to obtain comprehensive quotations.
  • Attend pre, mid, and post-tender interviews to clarify project requirements and present tender submissions.
  • Adjudicate tenders, including prelims and labour rates, prior to final tender submission.
  • Participate in internal project handover meetings, providing detailed descriptions of project inclusions and exclusions to design and construction teams.
  • Identify and highlight potential value engineering opportunities to achieve cost savings.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
