Role Description
The Electrical Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Rotherham. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates for high voltage electrical projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. The Electrical Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, liaise with suppliers and contractors, and support bid preparation and tender submissions. Daily responsibilities include analyzing project risks, updating cost databases, tracking variations, and collaborating with engineering and project management teams to ensure accurate, competitive, and compliant proposals. The role also requires monitoring project costs against estimates and providing regular reports and insights to support effective decision-making.

- Strong skills in Electrical Estimating and Cost Control for high voltage or industrial projects.
- Experience in Electrical Contracting and a solid understanding of Electricity supply and distribution environments.
- Technical knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to power networks and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in using estimating software, spreadsheets, and related digital tools.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering, commercial, and site teams.
- Relevant vocational qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with UK electrical standards, regulations, and health and safety practices; experience in high voltage projects is an advantage.
