Location: Leicestershire, East Midland, West Midlands, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 + benefits depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: In person / Hybrid

Mealey Electrical Contractors Ltd is a well-established, NICEIC-approved electrical contractor with over 15 years of industry experience. We specialise in delivering large-scale electrical projects across the commercial, industrial, medical, and public sectors.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team and support the existing estimating department and Managing Director.
The Role
You will play a key role in preparing competitive and accurate estimates and tender submissions for a wide range of electrical projects. Working closely with our estimating team, management, clients, and suppliers, you will help ensure enquiries are developed into successful orders.
Our services include the design, installation, maintenance, and testing of:
- Electrical installations
- Fire alarm systems
- Emergency lighting
- BMS control systems
- Structured wiring and cabling

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate electrical estimates and quotations.
- Complete tender returns and associated documentation, including PPQs.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Identify opportunities and support the conversion of enquiries into orders.
- Work effectively to deadlines, targets, and commercial requirements.
- Support the Managing Director and estimating team with ongoing projects and enquiries.
- Ensure all estimates are accurate, competitive, and professionally presented.
About You
We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience within an electrical installation environment, ideally with previous estimating or tendering experience.
You will be:
- Organised and able to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Numerate, accurate, and highly detail-oriented.
- Computer literate and confident using standard office software.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working under pressure and to commercial targets.
- A confident communicator with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
- Adaptable, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
- A reliable team player with a positive attitude.
- Punctual and professional.
- In possession of a full driving licence.

Qualifications & Experience
- A recognised electrical apprenticeship or qualification, such as City & Guilds 2361 or equivalent, is required.
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or an equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in electrical estimating, tendering, or commercial electrical installation will be highly regarded.
