Estimating is where a project is won or lost, and this contractor knows it. They are appointing an Electrical Estimator to price large-scale building services packages - data centres, hospitals, warehousing and heavy industrial - from a Wolverhampton estimating team that is growing on the back of won work rather than hope.

About the opportunity

An established building services contractor is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to take ownership of tenders on significant M&E projects. You will price complete electrical packages, from first read of the tender drawings through to a submission you can stand behind at review. The team is small enough that your pricing decisions are visible and large enough that you are never the only person carrying a bid.

The role is primarily based at the Wolverhampton office, with hybrid and remote working available for the right person. Applications are welcome from experienced estimators anywhere in the UK.

What you will be doing

  • Preparing detailed, competitive electrical estimates for major building services projects
  • Reviewing tender drawings, specifications, schedules and contract documentation
  • Completing detailed electrical quantity take-offs and measurements
  • Identifying risks, omissions and discrepancies, and raising RFIs and tender queries
  • Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations against specification
  • Building tender submissions including assumptions, exclusions, clarifications and qualifications
  • Finding value engineering and cost saving opportunities
  • Tracking market rates, material costs and subcontractor pricing
  • Working alongside commercial, design, procurement and delivery teams
  • Supporting tender negotiations and client queries
  • Attending tender reviews and handing won projects over cleanly
  • Reviewing completed projects against original estimates to sharpen future pricing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
