Electrical Estimator | Competitive | Fleet

Working closely with the existing ICT design team, you will be responsible for carrying out site surveys, producing electrical estimates, developing Bills of Materials (BoMs), preparing drawings, and supporting the delivery of competitive tender submissions for data centre and critical infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electrical background who understands commercial and industrial electrical systems and can confidently price projects without relying on external electrical contractors.

This is a full-time, office-based position located in Fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys to gather project requirements and assess existing electrical infrastructure.
  • Produce accurate electrical estimates for installation and infrastructure projects.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials (BoMs) and supporting design drawings.
  • Price electrical works, including labour, materials, and subcontractor costs.
  • Prepare competitive tender submissions and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with the ICT Design team to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and contractors to clarify technical requirements and project scope.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical standards, regulations, and current market pricing.
  • Support project planning by providing commercial and technical input throughout the tender process.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in electrical estimating within construction, building services, mission-critical, or data centre environments.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical infrastructure, including switchgear, UPS systems, power distribution, containment, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and electrical standards.
  • Experience producing Bills of Materials (BoMs) and supporting technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Confident discussing and pricing electrical works independently without relying on external contractors for technical guidance.

Desirable

  • A relevant qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience working on data centre, critical infrastructure, or mission-critical projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry best practices.
