Electrical Field Service Engineer
Location: Must be within the territories - Oxfordshire, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Swindon
Client: Medical Technology
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and configure laboratory and diagnostic instrumentation to agreed specifications and timelines.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment certification activities.
- Diagnose and resolve electro-mechanical, electronic, software, and network-related faults on complex systems.
- Perform corrective maintenance and repair activities in line with quality and compliance standards.
- Support laboratory automation, molecular diagnostics, blood culture, and other advanced diagnostic platforms.
- Deliver high levels of customer service through effective communication and rapid issue resolution.
- Produce accurate service documentation and reports using digital service management tools.
- Manage spare parts, service stock, and equipment inventory effectively.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure a positive service experience.
- Travel extensively throughout the territory, including occasional overnight stays.

Requirements
- HNC, HND, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven field service experience involving installation, maintenance, and repair of technical equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across complex hardware, software, and integrated IT systems.
- Experience supporting networked environments, including: TCP/IP networking, DHCP and DNS, Windows operating systems, Device configuration and connectivity troubleshooting, Software-driven equipment and system integration.
- Ability to diagnose both physical equipment faults and network-related issues independently.
- Experience within laboratory, diagnostics, healthcare, scientific, or other highly regulated technical environments is advantageous.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
