Electrical Fitter
JOB TITLE: Electrical Fitters - Hydrogen Power Generation
LOCATION: Newcastle upon Tyne
CONTRACT: Full-Time, Contract
PAY RATE: £23.04 per hour (~£44,300 per annum)
WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week (2-Shift Pattern: Mornings & Afternoons)
This position operates on a rotating 2-shift pattern (Mornings/Afternoons), offering a great work-life balance alongside competitive hourly pay in a rapidly growing sector.

Shift Structure
- Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
- Pattern: Rotating weekly between:
- Early Shift: Mornings
- Late Shift: Afternoons
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical assembly, high-voltage/low-voltage wiring, and cable harness integration on hydrogen power units.
- Assemble control panels, switchgear, inverters, and automated control systems.
- Carry out pre-commissioning checks, point-to-point wiring tests, and initial energisation procedures.
- Work safely alongside mechanical and process engineering teams in a controlled manufacturing/testing environment.
- Diagnose electrical faults and perform remedial work during factory acceptance testing (FAT).
What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering / Electrotechnical Technology (or recognized time-served apprenticeship).
- Regulations: 18th Edition BS 7671 preferred.
- Experience: Hands-on experience with industrial wiring, control panels, power generation, or automotive/renewable energy power systems.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safe isolation procedures and working with energy systems (ATEX / COMPEX exposure is an advantage, though not essential).
