Electrical Fitter

Location: Biggleswade, Bedfordshire

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:45am - 12:45pm

Salary: 34,000-38,000

About the Electrical Fitter Role

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our production team. You'll be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and components on machinery builds. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work from electrical drawings and schematics.

Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Fitter

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Assemble electrical panels and carry out field wiring on mechanically built machines
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical systems and components
  • Repair or replace faulty wiring and electrical parts where required
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations
  • Follow company quality procedures and health & safety guidelines
  • Work to tight production deadlines and build schedules
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production team

What We're Looking For in an Electrical Fitter

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Fitter or Panel Wirer (ideally 2 years)
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems and components
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of electrical safety procedures and regulations
  • Relevant electrical engineering qualification or similar
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to provide own hand tools where possible
