Contract Opportunity: Electrical Harness Design Engineer – Automotive
We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Harness Design Engineer to join an automotive engineering programme focused on commercial vehicles / trucks.
This is a contract opportunity suited to engineers with strong hands-on experience in electrical harness, schematic and EDS design, ideally within the automotive or commercial vehicle sector.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical schematics and wiring systems for automotive applications.
- Design and develop electrical harnesses and harness drawings.
- Develop and support EDS (Electrical Distribution System) designs.
- Create and maintain electrical design documentation, wiring diagrams and related engineering data.
- Use Zuken E3 for electrical schematic and harness design — preferred.
- Work with ECAD tools for electrical design and documentation.
- Manage engineering data and design documentation using Teamcenter.
- Support design reviews, validation and issue resolution.
- Work closely with electrical, systems, mechanical and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Support prototype builds, validation activities and production release.
- Implement engineering changes and ensure design documentation is updated accurately.
- Support the resolution of electrical harness and design issues throughout the product development cycle.

🎯 Key Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive electrical harness design.
- Experience with electrical schematic and wiring harness design.
- Zuken E3 experience – highly preferred.
- Experience with ECAD software.
- Experience with Teamcenter PLM.
- Good understanding of automotive electrical architecture, harnesses, connectors and EDS.
- Experience within commercial vehicles / trucks would be highly desirable.
- Experience supporting validation and production release.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
