Electrical Improver
Step into a hands-on Electrical Improver role where everyday work makes a real difference to safety, reliability, and performance across commercial and industrial sites. This Electrical Improver position offers a clear 12+ week assignment on a short, structured programme, helping you build momentum, showcase proven site skills, and keep your career progressing in the fire and security and electrical installation industry.
What You Will Do
- Assist with installing containment such as conduit, tray, basket, trunking across the Derby site and keep work areas organised.
- Support the installation and dressing of electrical/fire alarm cabling under supervision, ensuring neat, safe, and compliant routing.
- Help with fitting and mounting alarm equipment and devices including detectors, sounders, call points, interfaces and associated field components (with final connections, testing and commissioning handled by qualified electricians or fire and security engineers).
- Work confidently at height from MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) as part of the site installation plan.
- Operate as an effective team member, working alongside qualified electricians or fire and security engineers and following site processes.
- Carry out the improver elements of the role to a high standard, contributing to smooth delivery throughout the 12-week period.

What You Will Bring
- Experience installing containment and electrical/fire alarm cabling in commercial or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with working on electrical installation projects, including assisting with the installation of alarm equipment and cabling under supervision.
- Confidence working at height from MEWPs, with a valid IPAF licence preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- An ECS card (or equivalent) suitable for site access, ideally aligned to Electrical Labourer/Improver routes.
- A safety-first mindset and a reliable, professional approach to working under supervision on live project sites.
