Company Description
BJF Group is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Electrical Improver to join our Facilities Management team supporting the VIVO Defence Services contract across Ministry of Defence sites, based from our Gosport operation.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a growing FM environment, working alongside qualified electricians to maintain critical infrastructure across a diverse defence estate. The Role
As an Electrical Improver, you will support the delivery of planned and reactive electrical maintenance works across MOD buildings and facilities. Working alongside qualified electricians and supervisors, you'll gain valuable experience while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Support electrical maintenance and repair activities across MOD sites.
- Assist with fault finding, repairs, replacements, and minor installation works.
- Assist with lighting, power, and distribution board maintenance.
- Order and call off materials through BJF procurement processes.
- Complete works safely and in accordance with electrical regulations, site procedures, and client requirements.
- Accurately record completed works using company systems and documentation.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture.
- Demonstrate and embody BJF's TEAMS Values in all aspects of your work.

About You
We're looking for a proactive individual who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in their work, and is keen to develop within the electrical maintenance sector.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience working within commercial, industrial, residential, or FM environments.
- Good understanding of electrical practices, methods, tools, and materials.
- Knowledge of electrical health and safety requirements.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Customer-focused approach with a collaborative attitude.
Desirable
- Experience within Facilities Management or maintenance contracts.
- Experience working on secure, public sector, or defence estates.
- Electrical qualifications working towards fully qualified Electrician status.
- Familiarity with CAFM or mobile working systems.
