Electrical Installation Engineer
Location – UK Wide (with travel and occasional overnight stays)

As demand for reliable power continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join our Projects team and play a key role in delivering high-quality installations across a diverse portfolio of customer sites.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled electrical professional with extensive installation experience and a strong understanding of generator and critical power systems. You'll be responsible for leading installation activities across commercial, industrial, healthcare, military, utility, data centre and other critical environments, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working on technically challenging projects, takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and can confidently lead site teams while maintaining excellent customer relationships. What you'll be doing:
- Leading the installation of generator systems ranging from small standby units through to large multi-megawatt installations.
- Installing LV distribution equipment, switchgear, transformers, ATS panels, synchronisation systems and generator control panels.
- Installing containment systems and terminating power and control cabling.
- Supporting the installation and integration of diesel and gas-powered generator systems.
- Assisting commissioning engineers during synchronisation and load testing activities.
- Carrying out electrical inspection, testing and certification activities in accordance with BS7671 requirements.
- Planning installation activities, coordinating labour and materials, and supporting project delivery objectives.
- Supervising engineers, subcontractors and apprentices while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
- Building strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors and site teams.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards across all installation activities.

What we're looking for:
- Experience in industrial and commercial electrical installation.
- Extensive generator and electrical installation experience.
- Strong understanding of critical power systems.
- Experience managing site-based engineering teams.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
- Knowledge of DNO and IDNO requirements.
- Experience interpreting technical and electrical drawings.
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation.
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification.
- BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- ECS Gold Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- First Aid at Work.
