Electrical Installation Engineer

Full Time, permanent

Lutterworth, UK

The basic salary is £40,000–£45,000+, depending on experience, excluding overtime pay.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join our specialist installation team.

The Challenge

This is not a repetitive installation role. Our work combines electrical engineering, technology and craftsmanship, often within prestigious and historically significant buildings where attention to detail really matters. You will become part of a specialist engineering team delivering high-quality AV and lighting installations in spaces that matter, from cherished local venues to significant national landmarks.

NoiseBoys designs and installs high-quality integrated technology systems in churches, cathedrals, theatres, schools, universities, community venues and heritage buildings across the UK.

We specialise in permanent installations rather than equipment hire or live events. Every project is bespoke, technically challenging and built to last.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join our specialist installation team.

  • £40,000–£45,000+ basic salary, depending on experience

This is a varied, site-based role combining high-quality commercial electrical installation with professional audio, lighting, visual and control systems.

Working closely with our Project Managers and AV Installation Engineers, you will help deliver complete integrated technology systems from installation through to testing, commissioning and handover.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Installing electrical infrastructure for professional audio, lighting and visual systems
  • Installing containment, including tray, basket, conduit and trunking
  • Running, terminating and testing power and data cabling
  • Installing distribution equipment and dedicated electrical supplies for AV systems
  • Carrying out initial inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations
  • Signing off completed electrical work where appropriate
  • Supporting system commissioning, testing and project handover
  • Producing and maintaining accurate site documentation
  • Working safely and efficiently across a variety of customer sites
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the installation team
  • Maintaining a consistently high standard of workmanship

The position involves regular UK travel and overnight stays during the working week.

For the right person, this role offers the opportunity to progress into a Lead Electrical Engineer position and play an important part in developing our in-house electrical capability.

The Person

You are a fully qualified electrician who takes pride in producing neat, reliable and carefully finished work.

You have strong commercial installation experience and can work confidently without direct supervision.

You are competent in inspecting, testing and certifying your own work and are comfortable taking responsibility for the quality and compliance of completed installations.

You enjoy varied project work, solving technical problems and working as part of a wider project team.

Experience with AV, lighting or structured cabling would be useful, but it is not essential. What matters most is your electrical competence, attention to detail and willingness to learn specialist technology systems.

Qualifications And Experience

Essential Requirements

  • An industry-recognised Level 3 competency-based electrical qualification or completed electrical apprenticeship
  • Successful completion of AM2, AM2S, AM2E or the equivalent occupational competence assessment appropriate to your qualification route
  • A recognised BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
  • A recognised Level 3 qualification in initial verification, inspection, testing and certification, such as City & Guilds 2391-50, 2391-52 or an accepted equivalent
  • Strong commercial electrical installation experience
  • Practical experience inspecting, testing and certifying commercial electrical installations
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for completed electrical work
  • A consistently high standard of workmanship
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away during the working week
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • ECS Installation Electrician Gold Card
  • Experience signing off commercial electrical installations
  • Professional AV or lighting installation experience
  • Theatre or entertainment lighting experience
  • Structured cabling experience, including Cat6 or fibre
  • Experience working in heritage or listed buildings
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • IPAF
  • PASMA

Terms of Employment

This is a full-time, permanent position, subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period.

The role is based from Lutterworth and involves regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK. Overnight stays away from home will be required during the working week.

The basic salary is £40,000–£45,000+, depending on experience, excluding overtime pay.
