About the Company
Our client is an established and rapidly growing provider of renewable energy and electrical infrastructure solutions, supporting both domestic and commercial customers across the UK. As demand for electric vehicle infrastructure continues to accelerate, they are looking to appoint an experienced, fully qualified electrician who wants to develop their technical career within the EV and renewable energy sector.
The Role
This is a varied field-based position combining traditional electrical installation with EV charging, testing, maintenance, and fault-finding. You will work across a broad range of projects, with domestic installations forming a significant part of the workload, alongside workplace charging, commercial installations, electrical surveys, and ongoing maintenance. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive product and technical training, ongoing support, and genuine opportunities to progress as the business continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Installing and commissioning EV charging equipment at residential and commercial properties
- Undertaking electrical inspection, testing, and certification
- Carrying out electrical surveys and assessing existing installations
- Diagnosing, fault-finding, and repairing EV charging equipment
- Providing servicing and preventative maintenance where required
- Installing general electrical power and lighting systems
- Installing containment including tray, trunking, and ladder systems
- Working across domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical environments
- Managing allocated jobs and organizing your workload effectively
- Liaising professionally with customers, site contacts, and end users
- Completing all documentation and digital records accurately
- Working in accordance with relevant electrical regulations, company procedures, and health & safety requirements
- Maintaining consistently high standards of workmanship, customer service, and professionalism

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, time-served electrician with strong electrical installation fundamentals and an interest in developing further within EV charging and renewable energy.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or an equivalent recognized qualification
- AM2 or an equivalent recognized competency route
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations / BS 7671
- A minimum of 5 years' electrical installation experience
- Experience across domestic, commercial, and/or industrial environments
- Demonstrable experience carrying out electrical installation work to a high standard
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Good IT and digital literacy
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices
- Professional approach to customer-facing work
- A positive attitude and willingness to undertake further training
Advantageous
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent
- C&G 2919 EV Charging Equipment Installation or an equivalent EV qualification
- Previous experience installing EV charge points
- Experience working with multiple EV charging manufacturers
- Previous servicing, maintenance, or fault-finding experience within the EV sector
- Experience working on commercial EV infrastructure
EV experience is desirable rather than essential. The client is particularly interested in fully qualified, experienced electricians with a strong electrical background who are keen to move into or further develop their career within the rapidly expanding EV industry.
