Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire, with travel to customer and project sites across the UK
Salary: £35,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience
We’re looking for an Electrical Installation Technician to join a growing engineering team delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK.
You’ll be involved in the installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding of a range of electrical and control systems, including intelligent transport systems, roadside technology, control cabinets and associated infrastructure.
This is a varied, hands-on role, with time split between the workshop and customer sites. You’ll support projects throughout the installation, testing and commissioning process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Installing, modifying and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.
- Carrying out cable installation, glanding, termination and testing.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.
- Working with control panels, roadside equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Supporting the assembly and installation of mechanical equipment.
- Reading and working from electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
- Supporting testing and commissioning activities.
- Completing site documentation, inspection records and test certificates.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant procedures and quality standards.

What We're Looking For
We’re keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in roles such as Electrical Installation Technician, Electrical Technician, Electrical Engineer, EC&I/E&I Technician, Electrical Fitter, Installation Engineer or Field Service Technician.
Ideally, You'll Have
- An NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong electrical installation, maintenance and fault-finding experience.
- Experience reading electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
- Experience using electrical test equipment.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- An ECS or CSCS card.
- The flexibility to travel to customer and project sites across the UK when required.
