Key Responsibilities

  • Responding to plant breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving electrical and instrumentation faults.
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing 415V AC motors and associated control equipment.
  • Installing, commissioning and maintaining safety, control and measurement systems, including level, pressure and temperature instrumentation.
  • Carrying out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems in accordance with maintenance procedures.
  • Maintaining hazardous area electrical equipment in line with DSEAR regulations.
  • Completing general electrical installation work, including lighting systems and cable management.
  • Recording maintenance activities accurately and ensuring equipment history is kept up to date.
  • Updating electrical and control drawings where required.

About You

  • A time-served apprenticeship or recognised qualification in an Electrical and/or Instrumentation discipline.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, chemical, process or industrial environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with a systematic approach to identifying root causes.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing business needs.
  • The ability to complete planned and reactive maintenance within agreed timescales.
  • Experience using the following systems would be advantageous:
    • SAP (or a similar CMMS) for maintenance management and equipment history.
    • Beamex CMX (or equivalent calibration software).
    • Electrical and control drawing databases.
    • Microsoft Office.
