Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) | 4-Day Week | Career Progression Opportunity
Location: Witham, Essex
Salary: £50,000+ 5% Bonus + Development Package
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an electrically biased engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business. This role is particularly suited to an individual seeking greater autonomy, improved work-life balance, and a clear pathway for career progression.
The Opportunity
HG&Co is a forward-thinking, family-owned organisation operating within a stable and well-managed production environment. The site offers a structured yet low-pressure setting, where engineers are trusted to manage their own workload and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
This position has been created with succession planning in mind. There is a clear pathway to progress into a Team Leader role within approximately two years, with further long-term potential to move into Engineering Manager level for those with leadership aspirations.

Key Benefits

The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of site operations, with responsibilities including:
- Electrical installation, fault finding, and planned preventative maintenance
- Supporting mechanical breakdowns alongside a predominantly mechanical team
- Contributing to continuous improvement and reliability projects
- Working with Siemens S7 systems, with opportunities to further develop PLC skills
Your Profile
- Electrically biased engineer with 18th Edition qualification
- Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar processing environment
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of workload
- Strong interest in personal development and progression into leadership
