Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking to apply your skills in a truly unique engineering environment?
At LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, we have a new permanent opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our specialist engineering team who are responsible for maintaining our diverse range of rides, attractions and themed experiences within one of the UK's most popular family destinations.
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias), you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of complex electro-mechanical systems across LEGOLAND Windsor Resort. Working on a wide variety of attractions and ride systems, you'll undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, diagnostics, inspections and refurbishment activities across both electrical and mechanical assets.
From troubleshooting PLC-controlled ride systems and electrical control panels to carrying out three-phase motor testing, electrical condition reporting and safety-critical inspections, no two days are the same. You'll work with a wide range of technologies including control systems, sensors, drives, pneumatic equipment and ride vehicles while supporting ongoing improvement, refurbishment and upgrade projects.
Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you'll help to deliver safe and memorable experiences for millions of guests each year while developing specialist expertise on engineering systems rarely encountered in traditional maintenance environments.
This role would suit engineers with experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, automation, FMCG, facilities management, rail, aerospace, automotive, marine or other engineering-focused industries who are looking for a technically challenging and rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections and safety-critical checks across rides, attractions and associated systems
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and undertake reactive maintenance to maximise ride availability and reliability
- Troubleshoot and fault-find on PLCs, control systems, sensors, drives, instrumentation and associated electrical equipment
- Conduct electrical condition reporting and inspections on ride systems, components and electrical installations
- Perform three-phase motor testing, diagnostics, condition monitoring and trending activities
- Complete electrical panel modifications, rewiring and component replacement where required
- Carry out planned maintenance activities including:
- Strip down and rebuild of attraction vehicles, including trains, cars and boats
- Strip down, overhaul and rebuild of mechanical brake assemblies
- Strip down, overhaul and resealing of pneumatic cylinders
- Electrical testing, inspection and maintenance of control systems and ride components
- Support ride refurbishment, overhaul and asset improvement projects
- Undertake preventative and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment performance and reliability
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and compliance documentation using maintenance management systems
- Follow all safety procedures, engineering standards and regulatory requirements, including HSG175 guidance
- Maintain excellent workshop standards using 5S and Lean methodologies
- Assist with auditing, management and ordering of critical spare parts and components
- Work safely at height and in a variety of engineering environments where required

Qualifications & Experience
- An ONC, NVQ level 3 or BTEC equivalent gained through an Apprenticeship or college route in engineering
- Recognised engineering qualification in Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience carrying out electrical maintenance, fault finding and diagnostics within an industrial or engineering environment
- Knowledge of PLCs and electrical control systems
- Experience testing and diagnosing faults on three-phase motors
- Experience undertaking electrical inspections and condition reporting
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
